Solis S401 Skyline Hair Dryer, 1875 Watts

Comment: I am a hairdresser. I got a Solis in 1993 as an anniversary gift from my boss. It lasted until 2008 because I dropped it. Then, it still worked fine but the cover that kept long hair from getting sucked into the motor wouldn't stay on. I have short hair so I brought it home to use on myself & replaced it with a Centrix dryer because my new boss loved hers. Well, it cost almost as much as a Solis and it lasted exactly 2 years and 6 days until it shot sparks at a clients head and when I shook it a little broken piece of plastic fell out. I still use the Solis from 1993 every day on myself. I am buying only Solis dryers from now on no matter what they cost! I hope you learn from my mistake as I did.

Comment: I received my Cosmetology license in 1980 in California. At my first job as an assistant, all of the stylists were using "Solis" Hair Dryers. Since I was an assistant at the time, it was my job to do the "shampoos" and "Hair Drying" and had the chance to use a Solis Hair Dryer for the first time. I was amazed at the power and how solidly built it was.

Several months later, I attended a Hair Show in Long Beach, CA and the "Solis" people were there demonstrating their Hair Dryers. I purchased my Solis dryer at that Hair Show in 1980. It is now 2010 and I still use the same Solis Hair Dryer so, for 30 years now, this Hair Dryer still gets the job done in the Salon each and every day!!! You will not regret paying the extra few $$$s for this incredible Solis Hair Dryer. It is worth every penny!!!

Comment: AFTER MANY, MANY HAIR DRYERS, I FINALLY FOUND THE ONE I AM REALLY HAPPY WITH! I STARTED USING IT IN MY GYM. THESE ARE THE ONES THEY PROVIDE FOR MEMBERS. I FOUND MYSELF GOING TO THE GYM ON WEEKENDS ***JUST TO STYLE*** MY HAIR!! IT LEFT MY HAIR LOOKING SOOO HEALTHY AND SHINY AND LOOKING AS IF I HAD GONE TO THE BEAUTY SALON. I JUST HAD TO HAVE IT.

IT IS *VERY* LIGHY WEIGHT, MAKING IT EASIER TO FINISH DRYING ALL OF YOUR HAIR AND NOT JUST THE FRONT (LOL)
IT DRYES HAIR IN HALF THE TIME THAN ALL THE HAIR DRYERS I USED BEFORE.

Comment: I've had this dryer for about 7 years now, and have never come across another that is more powerful in terms of the amount of air it puts out. There are others that get hotter, but I don't really think that's a good thing. This one gets as hot as you skin/scalp can really handle w/o burning but what makes it unique is the speed and amount of air it puts out. I think it's better than the one they use in the salon. I have a LOT of hair, and have never been happy with anything else. I love this dryer!
