I had been looking for a straight iron that wouldn't break my wallet. Of course when you ask your stylist what is best, the answer typically is a Chi. Not everyone can afford or wants to afford the price for a Chi. I did my research and read reviews for different irons. This iron is a great buy without the big cost. It worked great on my hair, but the real test was going to be on my daughters hair. Her hair is thick, long and wavy. It was fast easy and her hair straightened in one pass. Her hair turned out beautiful, straight and soft and in very little time. With an iron that works this great at a lower cost, who needs to spend twice the money? I would suggest this to anyone who may be trying to figure out if more money means better quality. Remington has been around for a while and has an impressive iron, for less money. I bet you won't be disappointed.

I have used more expensive straighteners(such as the Chi), and cannot believe how good this inexpensive Remington Shine is. It leaves my course wavy thick hair completely smooth and shiny. I much prefer this to the Chi. This newer model of the Shine is also very easy to use on my thick hair..it slides easily between layers and is easy to hold. Just be sure to use the lock feature, or you will accidentally turn this off when using it.

Purchased this straightener for travel (rather than dealing with adapters,converters, etc.) and it has ended up replacing my regular Hot Tools straightener. I use it every day and love it. And it worked perfectly while I traveled in Asia - can't beat that!
