Elchim Uragano 1800 watt Ionic Hair Dryer

Comment: I bought this "professional quality" hair dryer in March 2009, and it died in December 2009. First, it started to smell a little when I was drying my hair, my husband described this scent as "burning band-aids." Then, smoke started to come out the back end. Disappointing, for a $100 hair dryer, to say the least.

This dryer worked great for 8 months, and I'm pretty bummed that it didn't last longer. I definitely will not be purchasing another Elchim to replace it.

Comment: My stylist has this dryer and I really liked it. She paid over twice what I paid, having purchased mine from DiscountJungle. I've only had this dryer a few weeks but I'm very happy with it. It dries my hair quickly even on the warm/low setting. It's much more quiet than other dryers I've used as well.

Comment: The Elchin is really nice and quiet. It is heavier than most dryers but is sturdy with a powerful cord. The switches don't make much sense but once you push them you figure out that they are for speed and heat settings.

Comment: Prior to my new very short haircut, for the past 7 years+, I have used a hair clip to get my hair into a twisted up-do. I never had to blow dry, style, etc... I always had horrible luck trying to recreate new styles like the professionals using a blow dryer and round brush.

I found an amazing stylist about 6 months ago. I told him he could do whatever he wanted with my hair so long as he showed me how to recreate it myself. He gave me an amazing cut, showed me how to style it with a regular paddle brush and blow dryer.

The blow dryer I had at home was probably 10 years old and didn't have the end attachment (the localizes the air). So, I purchased this after sneaking a peak at the brand name he was using.

This dryer gets my hair dry fast, it is easy to work with and has well placed buttons. I have never accidentely hit one of the buttons to a different setting while drying my hair. I have always had this problem with dryers in the past and it is very frustrating.

In summary, the combination of a great cut, a stylist willing to show me how to recreate, and this dryer have me as a reformed woman. I love my hair now!

Comment: I bought this hair dryer hoping to see a big difference. I don't see it yet. What I really like - it does not burn your hair. I guess I am still learning to use it to get maximum benefits. I bought one for my daughter, and her hair look really-really great.
