This is a powerful hairdryer that gets my hair dry very fast in the morning. It does not cause breakage or any other negative effects, despite its power.
The dryer has two speeds, three heat settings, and a cool shot button. I find that I tend to use the high speed day-to-day, but still find value in the slower speed for more delicate jobs (trying to create curls, etc). The cool shot button is a great way to set my style after a few minutes on the hot setting.
I did extensive research on Amazon and beyond before buying this product, and am very glad to say that after 1 year of use I made the right choice in purchasing the Andis 80440.

This is a great hair dryer! I have been using it for over a month now & have been so happy with it. It really does dry your hair fast. I have long hair & a lot of it. With any previous 1800 watt hair dryer I had, it would take 10 - 15 minutes to dry my hair, more closely to the 15 minute mark. With this one, it takes around 6 minutes!
It is light & not too loud. It does seem like there is not a lot of air coming out but it still does dry my hair fast. I have had other high powered dryers that the hair comes out so much it usually would tangle my ends. That is not the case here.
I blow dry my hair straight & this one has the best straightening attachment. Unlike others that go over the nozzle, this one twist securely into place. It doesn't pop off like others nor does it come off it gets stuck in a tangle.
It's great too that there is a cool setting to flip the switch too instead of just having to hold down the cool button (there is one too)...Read more

This hair dryer is quiet which is what I was looking for. It also seems to dry my hair faster than my other hair dryer.
I sometimes do change the settings accidentally, since the switch placement is where I hold the dryer. But I am very happy with this product.
